Graffiti... more than just a piece of art

Well in my opinion as a graphic designer graffiti is art, and around the word have become like a weapon to fight against government, violence, racism and pollution the perfect example is Syria and Egypt. Graffitis around the world are very different in some places like Argentina is something legal that you only need the permission to paint if the owner agree with you to do it, but for example in Guatemala is very dangerous make graffitis. On the other hand in Brasil there are two famous artist that Yale embrace it their piece of art, and they are very famous.
But in my opinion the place where graffiti have the biggest impact in society is Argentina, because is a positive impact, the artist are happy and free to do their art, but in some places is dangerous and very complicated, and for me the more important thing is life, and if you are going to be murdered for that is not worth it.

  1. I agree with Alexandra because is great that graffiti has been well accepted in Argentina they just have to ask for a permssion to the goverment and they will bring them a wall to do their graffiti, grafittti in Argentina is a louder voice to share messages.

  2. It is interesnting how you associate the possitive impact in Agentina with a really big one in general, as a different way to express ideas, and concerns, and how people can say what they really want and feel without being arrested or judge. Awesome how we can use possitivily this fantastic new art.

  3. I agree with you, graffiti and art in general should be the means of communication of the people who have no voice and against what we think that is wrong. art must be free and must fight against injustices such as in honduras.

  5. Hello alex, i agree with you, i chose argentina too, because is a country where you can find art everywhere, its something spontaneous and the citizens are very happy with that. Its true that art expressions like graffiti are dangerous and something complicated in some places. I think that its something that has to do with culture, and in my opinion we don't have the necessary culture to do more colorful our country! Att. Andrea Mercado
